Will scratch-n-sniff cannabis packaging pass the smell test?
This could be a real help to those of us in Canada who have gotten used to opening a package from government-run stores

One persistent problem for legal weed is packaging.
Many jurisdictions enforce strict plain packaging rules that include what you can and can’t put on labels. But that has one obvious problem – it’s hard to know what you’re actually buying.
But two inventors in Washington may have found a solution. In a patent application, Random Vaughn and Jonathan Tanzer claim to have invented scratch-n-sniff packaging that allows users to smell the bud inside.
This could be a real help to those of us in Canada who have gotten used to opening a package from government-run stores only to find some dry, foul-smelling weed. It’s an epidemic!
