Light up with TreeHugger cannabis and contribute to reforestation in Canada

Cannabis producer Avant Brands Inc. partners with environmental group One Tree Planted.

Avant Brands says its TreeHugger brand sets a high bar when it comes to the environment.

Cannabis lovers who care about the Earth may want to consider the TreeHugger.

Avant Brands Inc. has launched the pre-roll pack, which the Kelowna, B.C.-based company says sets a new standard when it comes to the environment.

One, the pre-roll pack features a host of attributes that will please the ecologically conscious cannabis consumer.

And two, part of the proceeds from the sale of the TreeHugger will go into reforestation.

To accomplish this objective, Avant has partnered with One Tree Planted, an organization focused on restoring forests across the globe.

“Over the past years we have seen the devastating effects of global warming in British Columbia, specifically the recent forest fires in our hometown, Kelowna, which impacted many of our friends, families and employees,” founder and CEO Norton Singhavon said in a media release Tuesday (February 1).

The release announced the launch of the TreeHugger, a pre-roll multipack of 10 joints made from “organically sun-grown cannabis”.

The product’s features also include “sustainable, all-natural, clean-burning bamboo cones”, biodegradable interior bag and humidity pack, hemp-based labels, and 100 percent recyclable boxes certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

For its part, One Tree Planted is based in the American state of Vermont.

The group operates based on the model of planting one tree for every dollar donation.

“Since 2014, we have more than doubled the number of trees planted each year, and are working with partners across 43+ countries in North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Pacific,” the organization notes on its website.

In its February 1 release, Avant stated that it partnered with One Tree Planted to “make a positive impact in each selling province, including Avant’s hometown”.

“At Avant, we know planting trees is one of the best ways to sustain our planet and we are proud to support One Tree Planted and their on-the-ground reforestation efforts,” Singhavon said.
