Pressed hash

Pressed hash is created by compressing resin glands, which are known as trichomes, after the first extraction period. Pressed hash has a brownish color and it is produced with very high amounts of heat or pressure. This process makes pressed hash very dense and as a result, it stays fresh for a longer period of time.

The process is usually conducted through a sieving method that filters the cannabis material through a type of mesh that when it is pressed down on with force or heat, the trichomes will bind and melt together. Countries that are big on making pressed hash are Lebanon, Morocco, and Afghanistan. These countries used to make pressed hash just by rubbing the plant’s resin glands together with their hands.

The resin from that activity would stick to their hands in very high quantities, and then the resin would be scraped off their hands and compressed into bars. Pressed hash can be consumed in many of the traditional ways like through a bong, pipe, vaporizer, or a joint. Pressed hash is easy to store and offers a good deal of portability in comparison to loose cannabis. The end form of pressed hash is usually in small pucks. It is considered to be one of the easiest types of hash to make, because all you need is a good quantity of cannabis and a pollen press.

I managed to get some pressed hash because my friend had a bunch of leftover cannabis that he wanted to get rid of. So he bought a pollen press and decided to make pressed hash for the first time and let me try it. It’s nice and dense, which makes it really easy to carry around as opposed to dried up cannabis.
