If you want a full extract cannabis oil, decarbing using a mason jar will definitely minimize the strong odours from cannabis. Also, the terpenes that evaporate during the process will stick to the glass of the jar. If you want to use the jar for infusion, the terpenes will already be preserved. If instead, you want to decarb using your oven, keep in mind that direct contact with the air in your oven, it is unlikely that you will burn any of your marijuana during the heating process or finding the correct level of heat needed.

Here are the tools you will need for decarbing your weed:

  • 1 Mason Jar and Lid
  • 1 Baking Tray
  • Kitchen Towel
  • Your Weed
  • Oven Gloves

Directions

  1. Set your oven’s heat between 230°F or 450°F or 104C and 115C then place your oven rack in the center position.
  2. Crumble up your cannabis until its the size of rice. Place the weed in a mason jar and screw the lid on tightly.
  3. Dampen a kitchen towel and place it over the baking sheet, then place the mason jar on the towel. The damp towel will hold the jar in place on the baking sheet, keeping it from falling over.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 60 minutes. Carefully remove the mason jar every 15 minutes, using oven gloves and give the jar a good shake to disperse the weed evenly.
  5. After 60 minutes, remove the jar and let it cool for 30 minutes before storing it or using it for cooking.
